NO JOB TO LARGE OR SMALL FOR EXTRUDED FIBERS, INC.
Today many carpet manufacturers and a number of small fiber producers such as Extruded Fibers, Inc., produce solution dyed, vcs, polypropylene and nylon yarns. Extruded fibers is one of the most modern and efficient carpet yarning extrusion operations in the entire world.
Polypropylene is naturally stain, fade, and moisture-resistant, it will not fade in color, because the pigment is actually "built in" to the polypropylene fiber not dyed. Polypropylene has some construction limitations due to color requirements and durability needs. However, if properly constructed, polypropylene carpets offer unsurpassed value. While polypropylene is used in textured cut-pile constructions, it is far more common in loop pile constructions. Since 1985, the fiber type is the most commonly used.
Nylon is the most expensive and most widely used of the the synthetic fibers, it is used for all carpet construction types. Nylon is durable, resilient, and soil-resistant. It does tend to easily stain unless it is treated with stain protection. There are two primary types of nylon fiber: BCF or bulk continuous filament type 6.6 nylon is the premium choice, spun or staple nylon has more of a delustered appearance.
To operate their plant they have chosen the latest Plantex extrusion equipment. These are the typical raw materials used to produce BCF carpet yarns. The white pellets are raw polypropylene polymer and the colored pellets are carefully added during the process to give the yarns and the final carpet the desired color. This multicolored yarn is a typical product made by an extrusion machine, however any color can be produced.
The raw polypropylene or nylon polymer arrives by tank car and is initially removed by a pneumatic tube into outside storage tanks. Immediately before it is used this raw white polymer is then brought inside to stabilize it's ambient conditions within the plant.
